With plastic straws being a huge no-no for the environment, stainless steel straws are “on the up and up”. Paper straws which are provided by many restaurants get soggy and break down making stainless steel the preferred option. Just place in the dishwasher after use! Such beautiful colours available too!

3. Broken Bones

Today, stainless steel is one of the most frequently used biomaterials for internal fixation devices because of a favourable combination of mechanical properties, corrosion resistance and cost effectiveness when compared to other metallic implant materials. The biocompatibility of implant quality stainless steel has been proven by successful human implantation for decades. Titanium is also another metal well known for implants.

4. Kettles

Stainless steel kettles have become very popular due to their hygienic properties and let’s face it they look awesome in the kitchen too!

5. Soap

This may sound totally crazy but stainless steel can double as a “soap”. While it doesn’t make suds like a conventional soap it does neutralise odours such as garlic and onion! Next time you cook, try rubbing your hands on your sink and see if it works!
